
Mangalore, Aug 22: Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates (BDNE) Charitable Trust, Mangalore in association with Shri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli, will organise their annual scholarship programme at Adhyaksha Koragappa Memorial Hall at Kudroli here on Sunday.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Friday, president of the trust Jithendra Suvarna said that the organisation had selected 201 deserving students pursuing medicine, engineering, nursing and post-graduate programmes to distribute scholarships to them. This year, a total of Rs 12.23 lakhs will be distributed as scholarships to the students, he said.
Apart from the distribution of scholarships to students, there will be felicitation of top achievers and distribution of excellence awards to outstanding students. The organisation has also identified five helpless and sick individuals in need of financial assistance for immediate medical care, he said.
He said that the programme would be graced by Sri Arya Renukananda Swamiji of Shri Narayana Guru Mutt, Solur. Dean of Child and Adolescent Mental Health at Roahni Nilaya Dr Rameela Shankar, president of Shri Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli H S Sairam and president of Shree Guru Charitable Trust Sadananda Suvarna will be the guests of honour.
The programme is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
