Mudigere, Feb 20: M P Kumaraswamy, the Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Mudigere constituency in Chikkamagaluru district, has landed in a fresh controversy by creating a ruckus at the forest office here over the arrest of seven accused for illegal possession of tiger claws and deer antlers. A video clip of the MLA scolding officials has gone viral.

On Monday, Mudigere Range Forest officers had arrested seven people and seized four tiger claws and four deer antlers from them.

It is said the MLA had tried to call the officers over phone, but the latter had not received the call.

Mr. Kumaraswamy, with a few supporters, visited the office and picked an argument with RFO B M Prasad and others for not answering his call.

The MLA is also seen alleging that the officers were registering cases only if the accused did not bribe them. He also threatened to close the office if his calls are ignored in future.
