Udupi/Dubai, Apr 3: The mortal remains of Raghavendra Bandary, an expatriate worker from coastal Karnataka, who recently committed suicide in Dubai, UAE, were repatriated to his hometown yesterday.

Raghavendra Bhandary (35), son of Babu Bandary from Kolambe in Udupi district, had ended his life on March 24 night by allegedly jumping from a hotel building in Dubai. It is suspected that depression and personal problems were the main reasons for his extreme step.
A media release issued by the NRI media wing of the SDPI stated that Ataullah Jokattey, Dakshina Kannada district unit president of the party had contacted the party activists in UAE to assist the authorities and the family of the deceased to repatriate the body.
SDPI activists Lathif Mukkha, Riyaz Sajipa, Shalikat along with others assisted in police investigation, arranging documentation and consulting Indian consultancy for necessary formalities. The family members of the deceased have expressed their gratitude to everyone those who helped in completing the formalities and repatriating the body.
