Udupi, Aug 9: A high school student, who went missing under mysterious circumstances on Saturday found dead in a remote area at Kunjal village near Brahmavar in Udupi district on Sunday.
It is suspected that 14-year-old Prajwal Acharya, the only son of Vittal and Prema Acharya, residents of Kunjal village, might have committed suicide.
A class 9 student of VKR Acharya Memorial High School in the same village, Prajwal had reportedly been bunking classes for 11 consecutive days without informing his parents.
He had officially taken three days of leave with permission as he was suffering from fever. After recovering from fever, he used to leave home with uniform, but never attended the school.
The parents came to known about this only after Prajwal’s teachers contacted them to enquire about his prolonged absence. After his parents questioned about this, the boy was extremely depressed, police sources said.
A case has been registered at Brahmavar police station and investigations are on.
