Vehicles carrying BJP workers attacked

Kasaragod, Oct 4: Buses carrying Bharatiya Janata Party workers to Payyanur to attend a public meeting there in connection with the Janaraksha Yatra led by State president Kummanam Rajasekharan were allegedly attacked by CPI(M) workers on Tuesday morning.

No BJP workers were injured in the incident at Pallikkare, near Neeleswaram.

Traffic disrupted

BJP district president K. Sreekanth rushed to the spot and staged a sit-in on National Highway 66 disrupting traffic for a while.

The BJP workers later left for Payyanur after holding talks with senior police officers.

More police personnel were deployed in the area to prevent untoward incidents.
