Mangalore, May 3: In a horrendous allegation Former minister and BJP leader C T Ravi has dubbed the coastal district of Dakshina Kananda as a terror hub in south India.
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday Mr Ravi, who represents Chikmagalur constituency in Karnataka Legislative Assembly, went on to claim that one of the suspects in recent Chennai train blast had boarded train from Subrahmanya.
Meanwhile, rubbishing the claim of Mr Ravi, DK Superintendent of Police Sharanappa clarified that there is no link between Chennai train blasts and coastal Karnataka. The report appeared in a section of media that one of the suspects had boarded train from Subrahmanya is baseless, he said.
Mr Ravi, however said that such reports should not be ignored and people of this region should be alert. He reiterated that terrorists from across the country have some kind of links in coastal Karnataka.
Turning his guns on Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah and DK district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai, the MLA said that Congress leaders have failed to safeguard the interest of the people of state and this region.
Instead of eliminating terrorism, they are busy with communal politics with the intention of gaining political benefits, said Mr Ravi.
