Mangaluru, Oct 26: A court of Judicial Magistrate First Class in Sullia on Thursday remanded Hindutva chauvinist Chaithra Kundapura and six of her associates to judicial custody till November 3 in connection with the Wednesday’s assault on Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader Guruprasad Panja at Kukke Subramanya.
The associates of Chaithra are Sudin, Vinay, Manikanta, Nikhil, Harish Kharvi and Harish Nayak.
Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police B R Ravikanthe Gowda said that Subrahmanya Police have registered a case and counter case in the assault incident on complaints from Chaithra as well as Guruprasad.
Subrahmanya Police Sub-Inspector Gopal said that Guruprasad was in police custody and is getting treatment for injuries at a Mangaluru hospital.
