Mangalore, Jun 3: Within an hour after he accused Bangalore Archbishop Dr Bernard Moras of involving in the murder of Fr K J Thomas, the Karnataka Catholic Christians ' Kannada Association general secretary Rafael Raj was detained by police in the city on Tuesday.

Prior to this Mr Raj addressing a press meet in the city demanded that inquiry into Fr K J Thomas murder case be handed over to the CBI and that Archbishop of Bangalore also be taken into custody for investigation.
Accusing the police of arresting three innocent priests to cover up the sensitive case, Mr Raj said that besides Archbishop, Bangalore Cathedral Church's Fr Antony Swamy and Bangalore diocese estate committee president Ronald D 'Souza also should be taken into custody for investigation.
He said that a property issue was the main reason for this brutal murder. But, police are deliberately trying to hide many facts including the involvement of several influential leaders.
Fr K J Thomas, then rector of St Peter's Pontifical Seminar, Bangalore, was murdered in the seminary on the night of March 31, 2013. Three persons, including two priests, were arrested in connection to the case earlier this year.
