Mangaluru, Mar 24: In a heartrending tragedy, a 11-year-od boy, who was heading to her elder sister’s house to distribute his birthday sweets after appearing for examination on Monday, met with an accident near Sullia on the outskirts of the city and breathed his last.
Abu Tahir (11), son of Ahmed, an auto-rickshaw driver, residing at Kallumutlu near Sullia, was riding his mini bicycle when a speeding KSRTC bus coming from opposite direction knocked him down at Aramboor near Sullia.

Even though the critically injured boy was rushed to a hospital, he was declared brought dead, sources said.
The only son among the four children of his parents, Abu Tahir was a Class 5 student at Green View School, Sullia.
It is learnt that after writing examination on Monday, Abu Tahir had distributed chocolates among his classmates, teachers and friends.
Before returning his home, Abu Tahir had decided to visit the house of one his two married elder sisters and give her chocolates and share his birthday joy with her.
However, a KCRTC bus plying to Mangaluru from Madikeri, destroyed his dreams forever. Chocolates were found to have been scattered at the place of accident.
