New Delhi, Apr 2: Union Minister Smriti Irani was allegedly chased by four men in the Capital on Saturday near the Myanmar embassy. The accused were detained by the police after Ms Irani lodged a complaint at the Chanakyapuri police station.

According to the police, the incident happened on Saturday evening when Ms Irani was in her car with security officials. The accused allegedly made “inappropriate gestures” and followed her car.
“We received a PCR call at 5.18 p.m. One of her security officials made the call. The complaint was that a car with four persons inside was following and gesturing at her,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Braja Kishore Singh.
The police later intercepted the vehicle near the French embassy. She herself went to the police station to file the complaint, the official said.
The accused told the police they were college students and were unaware the minister was in the car.
