Mangalore can boast itself as one amongst others having the largest area of roads concretized in the state. The main reason for concretizing the roads is the harsh weather conditions. Inspite of having good roads, the driving conditions have deteriorated owing to dismal driving sense.
Mangalore being an educational hub has wide spectra of migrants who come for studies, business, tourism and various other reasons. Mangalore harbours ports that form one of the main routes to import and export, homing many industries with good standards.
To add more to the clumsy traffic hiccups, we have the jams and irrational bus halting positions, curbing the free-flow of traffic behind. It seems that buses are barons of Mangalore roads, the bus drivers are quite business-like in their carnage, posing danger to two wheelers to a very high extent.
The way in which the traffic rules are thwarted leaves behind one to choose to accept it or ignore it. The stream of mishappenings continues, since many vehicle users swap onto mobile so as to uphold “SPICE” Cellular Mobile Caption – ‘Never Miss an opportunity’. The vehicle riders never seem to cease using mobile on the move, leading to mishaps.

Yes, the Kankanady Bypass road, one of the main connecting roads to and fro Kerala, Bangalore and other places is deserted without a Traffic Vigilance resulting in Traffic jams. One might also observe there is a light post (seems to be newly installed) that is inoperational.
But who cares !!!.
