Mangaluru, Jan 16: Muslim Mahila Sahitya Sangha recently organised a workshop on 'freelance journalism' at Hidayat Centre, Mangaluru.
BM Basheer, News Editor of Varthabharathi Daily, who was the resource person for the workshop enlightened the audience with knowledge about freelance writing and informed them of the vast opportunities available for a freelancer.
He stressed the need of extensive reading in order to increase the vocabulary and refine the language skills. Participants enthusiastically took part in the question and answer session that followed thereafter.
Sameena Afshan, the President of Muslim Mahila Sahitya Sangha rendered the inaugural address and welcomed the gathering.
Shahnaz M, the honorary president in her concluding remarks stressed the need for young freelancers in today's world.
The program commenced with the recitation of Qur'anic verses by Shameera Jahan and Salma Sayeed Ismaeel convened the session. Zohara Abbas, Vice President of Muslim Mahila Sahitya Sangha rendered the vote of thanks.
