Mangaluru, Apr 8: In a shocking incident, a young journalist died of cardiac arrest on Charmadi Ghat on the outskirts of the city on Friday.

The deceased is Haimad Husain, a native of Raichur, who was working for Prajavani Kannada daily as a reporter-cum-sub editor in Mangaluru.
28-year-old Husain was on a study trip to Charmadi ghat along with his journalist friends from Mangaluru as it was a holiday for them on account of Yugadi.
According to sources, Husain developed chest pain while climbing the ghat. The guides who had accompanied the scribes advised him to take rest.
As Husain's condition began to worsen, he was taken to a hospital in Belthangady, where doctors pronounced him brought dead.
It is learnt that recently Husain had received a transfer order and he was supposed to leave for Haveri in some days.
Media fraternity in Mangaluru has expressed deep sorrow and condolence over the untimely demise of a young journalist.
