Mangaluru, Jan 6: In a tragic-incident a 37-year-old woman from Dakshina Kannada lost her life and three of family members critically injured when their car met with an accident near Dammam in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province.

The deceased has been identified as Umamima. Her husband Abdul Razzak (40), daughter Arifa (17) and son Muaad (9) have been hospitalised with severe injuries. The family hails from Kukkaje village near Manchi in Bantwal taluk.
The victim had been staying with her husband in Saudi Arabia for several years. Their children, who stay at one of their relatives home in their native place had recently flown into Saudi Arabia to spend their vacation with their parents.
The children were supposed to fly back to India within a day or two as the schools in Karnataka are already re-opened. Arifa is a PUC student while Muaad is studying at a private English medium school in their village.
The accident occurred when the four-member-family was returning after finishing their shopping on Sunday.
It is not yet confirmed whether the car rammed into the road-divider after a tyre-burst or some other speeding vehicle rammed into it on the road.
According to sources, Umaima died on the spot. Abdul Razzak, who was driving the car, and the two children suffered grievous injuries. They are undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of a hospital.
