Mangaluru, Aug 17: A 31-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday on charge of sexually assaulting a minor girl under the limits of Vittla police station in Bantwal taluk.

According to police, the accused on Tuesday visited his relative's house when the 9-year-old girl was alone. He took her to his house and sexually assaulted her.
Though the accused had threatened the girl against revealing the matter to anyone, she narrated the incident to her parents. Soon a complaint was lodged at Vittla police station.
The cops managed to nab the accused on Wednesday, a day after he committed the crime and went absconding. He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Bantwal DySP Raveesh C R, SI Manjaiah visited the crime spot as part of investigation on Wednesday.
