Mangaluru, Sep 4: Strongly endorsing star politician Ramya's recent remarks against communal forces, AICC general secretary B K Hariprasad on Sunday portrayed Sangh Parivar as a group of liars, rumour mongers and fake nationalists.

Addressing media persons here, he said that neither Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) nor its political allies had played any role in India's freedom movement.
“RSS which was founded in 1925 apparently supported anti-Indian forces (British). The leaders of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the earlier avtar of BJP, also did not take part in the independence struggle,” he said.
He said that Congress workers need not learn patriotism and nationalism from “those pseudo-nationalists were with the British during Independence struggle.”
There are several Congress leaders, who sacrificed their lives for the nation. However, pseudo-nationalists cannot recall name of a single person, who fought for Indian Independence," he lashed.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi's claims that the Congress has done nothing for the nation in 70 years, Hariprasad said, "I would like to remind Modi that it is Congress that protected the nation without allowing communal forces to divide it. “Those 'rumour spreading Sangh' members are experts in propagating lies,” he said.
