Mangaluru, Sep 18: Former police officer Anupama Shenoy, who had repeatedly rejected the requests of chief minister Siddaramaiah to withdraw resignation and continue serve in the police department, has now expressed her design to rejoin the department.

Ms Shenoy, who had resigned as DySP of Kudligi sub-division in Ballari district after a public spat with former minister P T Parameshwar Naik, was a chief guest in 'Hyderabad: Swathanthrya - Sangharsha', organized by Yuva Brigade (erstwhile NaMo Brigade) on Saturday in the city.

Ms Shenoy did not completely deny the rumours of her perceived entry into politics. Ms Shenoy said, "I have least interest in politics and moreover there are two more years to go for next election. I will take a decision then."

Ms Shenoy, who had changed her statements frequently after resignation, said that her anger was not against any politicians, but was against political decisions that transferred her even when election code of conduct was in force in January.

"It is true that I have submitted two resignations. I am now thinking of taking legal recourse in this connection. In the meantime, I have sent a request letter informing my willingness to withdraw the resignation to the chief minister on August 29. My resignation was accepted within five days and this is considered a major development. Now I have sought withdrawal of resignation citing technical reasons. Let us see the level of their concern towards me," she said adding that she has received an acknowledgement for her letter from the government.

"I have received a positive reply with a note that my request will be reviewed. Subsequently, CM Siddaramaiah called me too. He asked me why am I putting in papers one day and seeking withdrawal of the same, the next. I told him that I was not happy with my decision. In my village and wherever I go, people kept on saying that I should not have resigned. I explained this to the CM too, who said he too finds himself in a similar state of stepping down. CM said he too is forced to forget the socialist ideology and the anti-corrupt principles that he believed in. He also told me that it is not possible to do good things being a part of the government," she said.

Further, quoting the CM, she said, the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade that K S Eshwarappa launched should have been an apolitical organization to fight corruption. "The CM has assured me that he would consider my request for withdrawal of resignation," she added.

What happened Madam your visit to RSS leader Kalladka Prabhaker Bhat?????
We need an honest and secular brave police officer . Not like you Madam. You have resigned because you cannot face the challenge.
Also you are totally with RSS and we don't need much Nathram Ghldse's families in Police department.
I request Chief Minister to prevent this lady from entering Police department.
Her ego is now over and she failed to get any good response from BJP; due to Shobakka. Now she wants her job back.
As you mentioned wait for 2 more years for election and try you luck.

Mangaluru: In a significant step to curb online hate and intimidation, Mangaluru City Police have registered a suo motu case against multiple Instagram accounts accused of circulating alleged provocative and threatening content.

While monitoring social media activity on Tuesday, Kankanady Town PSI Anitha Nikkam identified the Instagram handle ‘team_targetttt_900’ for posting a hate message alongside images of lethal weapons. Another account, ‘team_nagara_900’, allegedly shared a threatening post targeting activist Bharath Kumdelu, tagging additional pages such as KARAVALI-OFFICIAL.

Several other accounts — including ‘immu_bhai.fan’, ‘target_boy_900’, ‘kings_of_manglore’, ‘team_target_boys.900’, ‘arshad_mangalore’, ‘target_ka19_ullal’, ‘team_target__’, ‘troll_tigersz_900’, ‘tr_group_900’, and ‘team_target_900’ — are also under scrutiny for spreading similar inflammatory material, police said.

Authorities have urged citizens, especially young social media users, to report suspicious pages and avoid engaging with groups that glorify violence or threaten individuals. Online hate can quickly escalate into real-world harm, and police stress that sharing or promoting such content can attract legal consequences.
