Cattle lifters who allegedly tried to mow down cops arrested

Mangaluru, Nov 5: The Mangaluru city police have arrested six persons involved in illegal cattle transportation at Bajpe police station limits, here on Saturday.

The accused had also tried to mow down police personnel November 1 when they tried to stop the vehicle in which stolen cattle from Kolavur were reportedly being transported.

The accused have been identified as Navaz alias Abdul Navaz, resident of Karambaru, who is said to be the kingpin of the racket; Mohammed Mansur alias Manchu, K.C. Road, Kotekar; Imran, Maripalla, Pudu village; Imtiyaz, Maripalla, Bhatish, Arkula, Adyar and Asgar alias Abbas, K.C. Road.

Bajpe police inspector T.D. Nagaraj said police sub-inspector Satish and other personnel apprehended the accused near Polali Gate on Saturday.

The police have recovered three cars, three swords, five mobile phones and cash from the accused.

The police said Navaz was absconding after being accused in a dacoity case in Kavoor police limits while Imran was an accused in the murder case of a lorry driver in Sakleshpur police limits.

The police had registered cases of cattle theft, attempt to murder and preventing government servant from performing duty against the accused.

It looks like police in India do not have work to do....most of the time they utilize on unimportant matters rather then important....safe guarding the cow is no once job....that should be taken care of by cow take carer....wasting tax payers money...why should we pay for it....prohibit....

If they dont have any work then we can utilize them for road repair work....most of the roads in south kanara badly need repair work....
