Hassan Mar 30: JD(S) supremo and MP H D Deve Gowda said that he will not contest the next Lok Sabha elections. "I don't wish to go to Parliament in a wheelchair," he remarked.

He said that he would consult his party leaders and decide on candidates depending on seniority. He added that if a senior leader does not wish to contest then he would wish to field his grandson Prajwal in the Lok Sabha polls.
"Prajwal is an educated person, but a little hasty. If someone other than me wants to contest, such a person is welcome to. Else, Prajwal will contest," Gowda said adding that he was committed to bring a party other than Congress or BJP to power in the state, in the upcoming Assembly polls.
Will campaign without rest
Gowda said that in the remaining 45 days before the election date, he would tour the state without rest.
The JD(S) party has a shortage of funds, but not fighting spirit. I don't need lessons in social justice from other people. I too have served the people of the state.
I am not bothered of people leaving JD(S). I am not keen to make my son Kumaraswamy the chief minister, the people of the state are, Gowda claimed.
