Bengaluru, Mar 22: Former External Affairs and Karnataka ex-Chief Minister SM Krishna, who recently resigned from Congress joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today in New Delhi.

BJP Karnataka chief BS Yeddyurappa has given Krishna’s joining ceremony a miss as he will be away campaigning in Nanjangud and Gundlupet.
It may be noted the BJP is enthusiastic with Krishna joining the party before by-elections to Nanjangud and Gundlupet Assembly seats.
However, political pundits are not convinced about the former external affairs minster’s vote-catching ability. But the BJP is banking on Krishna to pull it through, especially in the Mysuru area, where it does not have a hold.
In this regard, the saffron party is organising a grand reception on March 23 for Krishna in Bengaluru.
Krishna served as the Karnataka Chief Minister for five years up to 2004 and also as the Governor of Maharashtra.
More details are awaited.
