Hassan, Mar 29: Amidst mounting calls for unity of secular parties to defeat communal forces in 2018 Karnataka assembly polls, Janata Dal (Secular) supremo has once again brushed aside the possibilities of any pre-poll alliance with the Congress party.
“Many leaders are talking of unity among secular parties in Karnataka for the elections. At present, I am not joining any coalition and I won't comment on it till the Assembly elections are over," the former prime minister told reporters here
"The two national parties – BJP and Congress – have caused enough damage to the state. I have to fight against them now," Gowda asserted adding that BSP leader Mayawati would visit three places in the state for rallies in Mumbai-Karnataka, Hyderabad-Karnataka and Old Mysuru regions.
The party supremo also announced that a major party convention will be held on April 2 and one lakh people are expected to attend it.
