Cops seize unlicensed pistol from murder accused

Mangalore, Feb 17: City Crime Branch personnel arrested a person on the charges of illegal possession of a pistol.

Soorya Kumar alias Soori (24) from Shuntikoppa in Somawarpet who has various cases of murder and attempt to murder against him in the city seen brandishing an unlicensed pistol on a public road at Monkeystand near Mangaladevi Temple.

Acting on the tipoff, police led by CCB inspector Valentine D'Souza and others nabbed Soorya and recovered the pistol.

Soorya was wanted for involvement in 2008 Vasudeva Shenoy murder.
