
Mangalore, Sep 27: The Mangalore South police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of a youth at Gorigudde, Mangalore.
The police have named the arrested as Santosh Shettigar (38), Sandesh Kotiyan (21), Pavan Shetty (20) and Harshit Shetty (21).
30-year-old Durgaprasad Shetty, an employee of a chit fund company, in Gorigudde on September 22.
According to police sources, Shettigar was the mastermind of the murder plot. He was arrested by police at Navabharath Circle in Mangalore. Later, based on the information given by him three others were nabbed.
The police said Durgaprasad owed Shettigar close to Rs. 10 lakh. The latter tried to contact Durgaprasad many times to recover the money.
The police said Shettigar paid the other three accused Rs. 10,000 to threaten Durgaprasad.
But the three allegedly assaulted the Durgaprasad so badly that he died at a private hospital.
