Based on a tip-off, officials raided a posh apartment near Mount Carmel College and arrested Manish Panjabi (38), Vybhav Parek (35) and Sunil Kumar (38). They recovered Rs. 9.2 lakh in cash, a laptop and mobile phones from them.
The CCB officials said the accused were part of an inter-State cricket-betting racket and collected betting amount from their clients on behalf of prime accused Sukhdev from Rajasthan.
According to the police, the accused developed their own software exclusively for cricket betting and would give access to the punters to know the minute-to-minute trends on the betting online. The accused would allegedly launder money to pay winners.
The accused have been remanded in judicial custody and efforts are on to nab the prime accused, Sukhdev, who is on the run, said R. Ramesh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime).
So far this year, the CCB has booked 52 cases on cricket betting and arrested over 25 bookies who are part of the inter-State betting racket.
