Mangalore, Aug 2: The president of Muslim Educational Association (MEA), which manages Badria Educational Institutions, has welcomed the formation of Badria Old Students' Association and expressed happiness over the desire of alumni to serve their alma mater.
With this the three month-long campaign for the development of Mangalore's one of the historic educational institutions reached a new milestone.
“It is a good sign that alumni are coming forward to serve their alma mater. This is indeed a welcoming move,” said B Ahmed Haji Mohiuddeen, the president of MEA.
The veteran leader, who is leading the MAE for last three decades, extending a warm welcome to a six-member delegation of Badria Old Students' Association at his office in Thumbay, near here on Saturday, said that the young generation must come forward in such noble causes.
Sajid A K, Fahad P B, Ibrahim Khaleel, Khaleel-ur-Rahman, Mohammed Musthafa and Asif Amaco were the six members who met Mr Ahmed Haji and discussed about how they could formally involve in the development of the institution.
The delegation explained the president about the concern of alumni of Badria living in India and various Middle Eastern countries over the challenges faced by the institution which had shaped their lives and career years ago.
Mr Ahmed Haji said that he would hold a meeting with all the members of the executive committee of MEA discuss on how to co-operate and coordinate with the alumni body in the development Badria in the days to come.
He also promised the delegation to send an official invitation to the representatives of Old Students' Association to formally discuss about the future steps.
Mr Ahmed Haji congratulated the NRI alumni who already formed regional committees in Dubai, Qatar and Saudi Arabian cities with the sole intention of supporting their alma mater.
Hailing the goodwill gesture of Badria management, Mohammed Ameen, the president of Badria Old Students' Association, said that the alumni need to seek experts' opinion towards strengthening the association and to chalk out plans to uplift the institution.
