Bengaluru, Aug 3: To plan strategies on how best social media can be used to reach out to the masses ahead of the 2018 Assembly elections, the BJP will hold a social media conclave here on Sunday.

Briefing media persons, convener of BJP social media cell Balaji Srinivas said the event will be the “biggest ever” conclave focusing on social media in the State.
“Already, 13,000 volunteers, including professionals from the fields of IT, medicine, law and education, have registered online. We are expecting at least 6,000 to turn up,” he said.
“The conclave will not just draw up more intensive, poll-oriented social media campaigns, but will also plan on how to showcase the Congress government’s failures and Modi government’s achievements to the people,” he said.
“We are already on course to set up full-time social media teams in all the 224 Assembly constituencies. We are working on replicating the U.P. model in Karnataka,” he said.
Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the event.
