Bantwal, Nov 26: A Town Council member staged a demonstration right in the corridor of the council building in wake of a problem persisting in his ward, on Monday.
Devadas Shetty representing ward no.4 staged a stir against the negligence of the Council while speaking of an episode of a private individual building a bridge across a storm water drain to transport mud to his property at Kotramangundi.
He said that while he had brought the matter to the notice of the Council no action has been taken. He took the step of staging a stir as his written complaint too was not taken seriously.
He was supported by his counterparts Govind Prabhu, Bhaskar Tailor, BJP Kshethra Samiti President G Ananda and others.
Council President Vasanthi Chandrappa and Member Muhammad Nandarabettu visited the protester and tried to convince him.
However, Mr Shetty staged the stir for about 3 hours saying that he would not wind up the stir as long as his demand is fulfilled.
