Mangaluru, Aug 21: With the final batch of Hajj pilgrims leaving for Madinah from Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) at Kenjar on Thursday, a total of 670 pilgrims have travelled to Madinah from Mangaluru this year to begin their pilgrimage through the Central Hajj Committee.
All the five batches of pilgrims that left from Mangaluru from Sunday to Thursday were flown to Madinah by Saudi-Arabian Flynas flights.
The final batch of Hajj pilgrims from Mangaluru included 65 men, 67 women and two children.
Out of the total 670 pilgrims, there were 352 men, 314 women and four children. The first batch of pilgrims included 75 men and 59 women, the second batch included 77 men and 57 women, the third batch included 68 men and 66 women and the fourth batch included 67 men, 65 women and two children.
In a press release, Mangaluru Hajj Management Committee Yenepoya Mohammed Kunhi has extended his gratitude to Central Hajj Committee vice president, State Hajj Committee CEO and committee members, volunteers from Mangaluru Hajj Committee, airport director, customs, emigrations and district administration for their cooperation and support in providing necessities and safe travel to the Hajj pilgrims.
