Bengaluru, Jul 28: Anil Kumar Sinha, director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on Monday said that the agency would soon submit a final report on the investigation into the death of IAS officer D K Ravi.
“In the D K Ravi case that we are investigating, we are on the fast track. There were many angles to be investigated and we have almost come to the stage where the probe may be concluded soon. I do not want to pressure my officials. As and when it is finalised, you will get to hear about it,” he said. With regard to the lottery scam, Sinha said scrutiny of several aspects was on and the probe would be taken up soon.
The CBI director said that he had come to Bengaluru as part of visits to the branches of the agency. With regard to expansion of the Bengaluru CBI, Sinha said that it would be part of the discussion with officials during his day-long visit.
“Staff shortage is certainly an issue with the CBI. However, we are able to carry out investigation in all the cases assigned to us. The expansion of CBI Bengaluru will be discussed in the meeting,” he said.
