Kasaragod, Jun 26: Five members of a family from Badiadukka in Kasaragod district, who were reported missing were traced to Madikeri town in Karnataka on Thursday after nearly one-and-a-half months.

The family members, including a woman, a 15-year-old girl and two children, were traced on Thursday morning to the residence of a distant relative of Prema, 26, one among the missing, at Madanad locality, near Madikeri, the police said.
The Madikeri police handed over the missing persons to Kasaragod Circle Inspector of Police, who is heading the investigation.
The five persons — Prema, 26; her husband Udayan, 32; their two children, Srijith, 4, and Sangeetha, 2; and Prema’s younger sister, Remya, 15 — were found missing since May 14.
The incident came to light after Prema’s mother, Chandravathi, wife of Bhatiya Naik, lodged a complaint with the Badiadukka police on May 21 after efforts by the local people to trace the missing persons failed to yield any result.
The police have launched a detailed investigation into the incident.
