In the first case, the officers seized two gold wires weighing 233.550 grams and valued at Rs.6,86,637. They were concealed in the form of beadings around a brown coloured stroller suitcase, brought as checked in baggage from the possession of a passenger named Kappanakkal Muhammed Anvar, aged about 27 Years, son of Muhammed Kappanakkal, Bekal and arrived at Mangalore International Airport on Sunday at about 2:00 a.m. by Air India Express flight No.IX384 from Dubai.
In the second case, the officers seized one gold strip concealed in a measuring tape and 44 (forty four) gold buckles, concealed in footwear and ladies brassieres totally weighing 233.100 grams and valued at Rs.6,85,314, kept in a carton box brought as checked in baggage from the possession of a passenger named Aboobacker Siddeeque Bennamgala, aged about 27 years, son of Pallikunhi Nakkara Abdulla, residing at Bennamgalakunnil House, Kumbla, and arrived at Mangalore International Airport on Sunday at about 4:40 a.m. by Air India Express flight IX814 from Dubai.
Operations were conducted under the supervision of Hemen Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Mangalore International Airport by a team lead by B.Prabhakara Poojary, Superintendent along with Superintendents Sendhil Murugan, B.A.Kariappa, H.G.Yogesh and Inspectors G.Kumaraswamy, S.Ranjan Behera, Santosh Kumar and Ankit Kumar and Havaldars Varadaraju and Sowmya Naik.
