Mangaluru, Dec 30: Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader said that the state government had sought deterrent punishment for the culprits of the IED blast on Church Street in Bengaluru on Sunday and such incidents would not be taken œlightly .
Speaking to media persons at a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that such anti-national forces should be tackled unitedly and there was no question of taking their activities lightly. The culprits of this act should be arrested and bringing œpolitics into the matter will prove beneficial to them, he said, responding to a query posed by a reporter.
He assured that there were no differences between the chief minister and the home minister in this regard.
Responding to a question on the increase of malaria cases in Dakshina Kannada, he said that all malaria prevention measures would be reviewed shortly, in order to prevent the vector-borne disease from spreading.
He informed that the foundation stone for a building that would house the generic medicines in the District Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru would be laid on January 7. He added that the health department would ensure better quality in iron-folic tablets being distributed to students in schools and would also launch the distribution of Ayush'Pushti' biscuits in schools shortly.
Mr Khader also informed that a good wages system would soon be brought into implementation for regular MBBS doctors in the state.
