
Mangalore, Mar 4: Advocate B A Mohammed Haneef has taken charge as the president of the Karnataka State Beary Sahitya Academy at a function, organised in Bantwal on Tuesday. His term of office will be three years.
Speaking on the occasion minister for Environment, Ecology and Forest B Ramanath Rai said that people should give priority to language, culture and literature.
He also said the academy should fulfill all the objectives with unity.
In his address M B Abdul Rehman, founder president of the academy said that the academy was formed to develop and preserve Beary culture, language. He said academy should concentrate more on research field.
Vasudev Bolar president of AHINDA, Chandrahasa Rai, registrar of KTSA spoke on this occasion.
Umarabba registrar of Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy welcomed.
The appointed members were Hamid Padubidri, K Iddinabba Beary, M E Mohammed Firdos, Abbas Kirugunda, Abdul Hammed Golthamajal, Badruddin K Mani.
Abdul Hammed Golthamajal compered the programme.
