Bengaluru, Sep 16: The High Court on Tuesday granted a stay on the Lokayukta proceedings against former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in three cases of denotification registered against him.

He had claimed that the complaints were based on the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) report and not based on PAC report which is normally placed before the floor of the House.
During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General Krishna Dixit representing CAG contended that CAG report cannot be used as an evidence to file criminal complaints as report is used for making public policies. Senior counsel C V Nagesh representing Yeddyurappa contended that a FIR cannot be filed on the basis of the CAG report and sought a stay on all the FIRs against Yeddyurappa. However, Justice Rathnakala granted stay on further proceedings based on three FIRs.
