Mangaluru, Nov 17: The Karnataka state unit of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has welcomed BJP leader Subramanian Swamy’s demand to reopen Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination case.

Gandhiji was not shifted to the hospital soon after being shot, and moreover, an autopsy was not conducted after his death. There are also contradictions regarding the number of bullets shot by Nathuram Godse, he claimed.
He informed that the members of Hindu Mahasabha commemorated November 15 — the day Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse was hanged in 1949 — as 'balidan divas' (day of sacrifice) and launched a website titled 'Nathuram Godse — The Real Forgotten Hero' on Sunday in Meerut.
The website, he said, has been put up to inform the public about Godse's good deeds.
“Godse had killed Mahatma Gandhi due to his involvement in the partition of the country. Godse was apprehensive that India would be divided further if Gandhi remained alive. To mark Godse's sacrifice, we have commemorated November 15 as 'Balidan Divas'. We conducted havans across the country," said another Hindu Mahasabha leader.
