Mysuru, July 21: A Hindu woman, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji, the pontiff of Ramachandrapura Mutt, has expressed concern over the attempt to destroy the evidences in the case.

The sleuths spent nearly four hours at the residence of BJP leader H V Rajeev in Vidyaranyapuram here and recorded his statements. The statements of singer Premalatha Diwakar, the victim and complainant, were also recorded.
The seer had stayed in the house on Vinobha Bhave Road from June 3 to 8 in 2012, for ‘Ramakatha,’ a series of discourses.
Speaking to media persons, Premalatha said she feared that the evidences in the case would be destroyed.
“The attitude of some influential persons regarding the issue is disgusting. A woman coming out openly against sexual assault is not an ordinary thing. Even though I have boldly lodged the complaint, I am losing confidence in the investigation,” she said.
She was accompanied by her husband and a few relatives.
