Mangalore, Nov 30: Mushtaaq has become a tainted name in the country after being linked to the illegal money transaction case. It is not just Mushtaaq who suffers, but it is his entire family which has been trying to come to terms with whatever is going on around them.

While they were trying to cope up with Mushtaaq's ill health and then the allegations leveled against him, the family has been struck by another crisis, which has come as a devastating blow against them.

Unable to put up with pain of seeing his brother going through the tough phase, Mushtaaq's brother Ubaid died of cardiac arrest and shocked by the kind of events that have been unfurling before her, Mushtaaq's wife who is expecting a child too has taken ill.

The worse scene is that three children of Mushtaaq have been made to stay at home so as to prevent them from facing any kind of untoward incident at school.

Mushtaaq (40) has been taken by the Bihar police to Bihar for interrogation, in continuation to the Ayisha-Zubair case.

It is said that one of the relatives of Mushtaaq had sent Rs 40,000 and Rs 60,000 for his treatment, through Zubair and this acquaintance put Mushtaaq into great trouble.

The sensationalized reports appearing in the newspapers and the television channels that Mushtaaq had been an important link in the chain of'hawaala' money transfer and also that he had bankrolled terror activities has done damage to the family that it can never be the same again.

Brother's love

Ubaid, brother of Mushtaaq had been Bihar to meet Mushtaaq because of sheer love, affection and concern.

Ubaid knew the condition in which his brother was living and hence when the Bihar police took Mushtaaq, Ubaid could not stay in Mangalore. He immediately took a train to Bihar. However, on Thursday Mushtaaq greatest support had to leave him half way through.

Ubaid suffered a cardiac arrest in the train while he was on his way back home.

Ubaid had taken up the responsibility of Mushtaaq's treatment.

Though he had been to Bihar, he could not meet Mushtaaq. With the same pain of not being able to see his brother, he boarded the train and supposedly, he had spoken to his nephew for over an hour and wept over his inability to be with his brother during the crisis. Within few minutes of this call, he suffered a cardiac arrest and died in the train.

Ubaid is survived by his four children. He had returned to India just a month ago. Ubaid's death has only added to the pain of a hurt family.

Pain continues

Mushtaaq's wife is expecting their fourth child and the crisis that struck her husband have left her suffering immensely to the extent that she is almost bedridden. On the other hand, their three school going children have opted to remain at home because they had already become matter of mockery and suspicion among their peers.

Mushtaaq's family has lived in the vicinity as one of the respected families. However, the sensationalisation of the news by the media has left the family sobbing in silence.

The intellectuals call it trial by the media.
