Bengaluru, Apr 25: The Karnataka state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party, which has enrolled nearly one crore members in its enrolment drive, is now looking at grooming some of them as a crop of dedicated full-time workers.
The campaign being launched from May 1 to July-end is part of a national programme. The party is set to build a target audience sympathetic to its ideology.
Indicating this at a workshop held here on Friday, BJP State president Pralhad Joshi said information related to achievements of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the alleged failures of the Congress government in the State would be taken to these newly enrolled members.
“A misinformation campaign is being carried against the NDA government at the Centre, especially with respect to the ordinance on the proposed land acquisition Bill. We will first set the record straight by giving the right information to the newly enrolled members,” he said.
Former Deputy Chief Minister R. Ashok said the party had already used the informal network of the newly enrolled members in Bengaluru by sending SMSes to four lakh of them about the public meeting addressed by Mr. Modi earlier this month.
