Mani Usthad to be conferred with ‘Tajul Ulama’ award

Abu Dhabi: Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF) UAE National Committee has selected Karnataka’s senior scholar and Darul Irshad Educational Centre founder M Abdul Hameed Musliyar for the ‘Tajul Ulama’ award instituted in honour of Taajul Ulama.

M Abdul Hameed Musliyar, well known as Mani Usthad, has been known for his tireless service to the educational sphere having set up an educational institution two decades ago. By providing free education, food and uniforms to unprivileged children, he has been not only inspirational but also contributed to Kannada literature by penning several books.

Recognising his service to the society, he was selected as the recipient of Thajul Ulama award.

Abdul Hameed Musliyar was born in 1945 in Budoli in Peraje village in Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada. He established the Darul Irshad centre in 1990 and over the years, expanded it into an educational centre with Shariat college, Irshadiya Library, KGN Daawa College, Hiflul Qur’an College, KGN P U College, computer centre and Badriya Jumma Masjid.
