Survival of Democracy from Gandhi’s Principles: Indian Social Forum

Dammam : The celebration of Gandhi’s birthday on 2nd of October should not be a mere symbolic program. Indian Social Forum called upon Indian community to recall Gandhi’s principles in order to strengthen the Indian Democracy, said in its press release.

ISF stated in its press release that, Mahathma Gandhi was a proponent of secular values who has dreamed of a comprehensive welfare state. His assassination was the part of removing the secular values by the traitors. We should always remember the Gandhi’s principles and also we should learn the background of his murderers. It is the tragedy of India that the act of terrorism which began with the assassination of Gandhi is still continued. The demand from the fascist forces to build the statue of Ghodse who is the assassin of Gandhi is the biggest threat to sovereignty of the country. Indian Social Forum opined that Indian community should really fight against these traitors and by this way we can really celebrate Gandhi’s birthday.

The empowerment proposal by Gandhi included the development of farmers, villages, minorities, dalits and poor people of India. But today development projects implemented in favor of capitalists and corporate companies who are clearly against Gandhi’s empowerment theme. Even the foreign policy of the country also amended against Gandhi’s principles. In this situation Indian Social forum urged in a press release that we must give respect to Mahathma Gandhi by repeating Gandhi’s struggle to save our country’s democratic system.
