Udupi, Oct 2: Vishwesha Tirtha Swami, the chief pontiff of Pejawar Mutt has said that some intellectuals were interested only in sowing seeds of dissension among various castes.

“Even politicians do not exploit differences between religions or castes. But some intellectuals want to sow the seeds of dissension among castes,” he said.
To another question, the seer said that he had sought a debate on the points raised by the writer K.S. Bhagawan. But the latter had not responded to it.
“Mr. Bhagwan was making comments on various aspects of Hindu religion, such as caste and on the exponent of Dwaita philosophy Sri Madhwacharya, without even understanding it properly. Either Mr. Bhagwan should reply to the questions already raised by me or he should apologize,” he said.
