Mangaluru, No 7: Nearly, a week after the cold-blooded double murder at district prison in the city, the police department has placed five staff including the Jail Superintendent under suspension.

Additional Director-General of Police (Prisons) Kamal Pant has issued the suspension order on the charge of dereliction of duty which led to the murder of two prison inmates.
Jail Superintendent BT Obaleshppa, Head Warder Navi and Warders AA Kolara, SS Talwar and Mulki Patil have been suspended for alleged negligence in carrying out tasks that could have prevented the murders.
Madoor Isubu and his associate Ganesh Shetty were hacked to death by fellow inmates on November 2 inside the prison.
Two days after the murder police had recovered 16 mobile phones, a dagger, six kitchen knives, seven SIM cards, seven memory cards, mobile charges, electrical wires, cutting pliers, packets of chilli powder, electric stove, and wires of electric iron inside the prison.
