Bangalore, Apr 22: A delegation of Karnataka Muslim Muttahida Mahaz (KMMM), an umbrella body of Muslims in Karnataka and Karnataka unit of Jamat-e-Islami Hind met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday in connection with the killing of a youth from Mangalore by the ANF personnel.
The delegation urged the CM to hand over the case to Central Bureau of Investigation since the police department involved in the crime. They also urged to enhance the amount of compensation to Rs 50 lakhs and provide a government job for one of family members.
The delegation also convinced the CM to take stringent action against those who mercilessly attacked on relatives of Kabeer when they went to claim the body at Sringeri.
Karnataka state president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Muhammad Atharullah Shariff, secretary K M Ashraf, Mahaz conveners Maqsood Abdul Khader, Iqbal, Ejaz Ahmed, Thanveer Ahmed Sharif, Ziyaullah Khan and others were present.
KMMM comprises of the state units of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Jamiat Ahle Hadith Hind besides several local Muslim organizations.
