Belagavi, June 6: Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala today favoured for construction of Check Dams, instead of big dams, to solve the water problem faced by farmers in the country.
Speaking after inaugurating Deen Dayal Upadyaya study Chair set up by Rani Channamma University in VTU here on Thursday, he said that large quantity of water flowing into sea. Joining rivers can stop water going waste and divert them by constructing Check Dams and allow it to flow into Agriculture lands and may be utilised for drinking and Agriculture purpose.
"The country need to build small check dams instead of big dams to benefit farmers and make provision for drinking water", he added.
