Bengaluru, Jul 13: Around 1.23 lakh students among the 2.42 lakh students, who appeared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate’s (SSLC) supplementary examination, have passed, taking the pass percentage to 50.81.
The pass percentage of the supplementary examinations held in 2016 was 26.07. Girls have out-shined the boys here too with a pass percentage of 55.88. The pass percentage of boys is 47.9. Rural students have outperformed their urban counterparts with a pass percentage of 54.33. The pass percentage of urban students is 47.02.
Announcing this on Thursday, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait attributed the improvement in the pass percentage to the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSSEB) adopting the Karnataka Secure Examination System and providing remedial coaching to students.
He said that a circular had also been issued to ensure that students who have cleared the supplementary examination get admission in the pre-university colleges in the State. He said that all PU colleges had been directed to allow admission of these students till July 31, without fine. Colleges can also admit students who had cleared the SSLC examination conducted in April 2017 till July 31 after levying the fine.
Re-totalling and revaluation
Students may apply for re-totalling, revaluation and getting photocopies of their answer scripts though the Karnataka Mobile One app, or by visiting www.mobile.karnataka.gov.in.
