Udupi, Oct 14: The Bharatiya Janata Party has continued to indulge in political mudslinging over the recent murder of a Bajrang Dal activist in Moodbidri, with former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa accusing a prominent minister in Siddaramaiah led govt of protecting the criminals and exerting pressure on police.

He was speaking to media persons in Udupi before heading to Moodbidri town which witnessed communal tension last weekend after the murder of Prashant Poojary by unidentified miscreants.
Mr Yeddyurappa said that before breathing his last, Poojary had revealed names of four of the accused who hacked him to death. However, thanks to the pressure by the minister (Mr Janin), police could not take action on them.
Holding non-existent Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD), responsible for spreading violence across Karnataka, the BJP leader said that Congress government has been extending all support to the outfit.
"KFD was responsible for spreading communal hatred and unrest years back. The BJP government which was in power previously banned the organisation and clipped its wings. But the present Congress government withdrew cases against it. The home minster is inactive and irresponsible. If he has any regard for law in the state, then he should initiate action against the culprits immediately," Yeddyurappa added.
