Kumar Vishwas touched my breast, molested me: Former AAP volunteer tells police

New?Delhi, Aug 9: A former volunteer of Aam Aadmi Party, who filed a complaint against party leader Kumar Vishwas with the Delhi Commission for Women in May, has now approached Delhi Police suggesting that she had been molested.

On August 5, she sent a complaint to the SHO of Chanakyapuri police station, and also sent a copy to Delhi Police Commissioner Bhim Sain Bassi and National Commission for Women.

However, no FIR has been filed yet. Sources said the complaint has been forwarded to Sarojini Nagar police station for further action.

The woman alleged in her complaint that Vishwas “touched my breast inappropriately” at the party office in central Delhi’s Patel Nagar on February 10.

The woman, a resident of north-east Delhi’s Sundar Nagri, also described her first meeting with the leader in April 2014. “On seeing me, he put his hand over my waist and pulled me towards him,” the woman stated in her complaint.

Vishwas complimented the woman for the good work she had done for the party and allegedly told her that he would need her during her election campaign in Amethi. Vishwas contested the 2014 Lok Sabha election as an AAP candidate, but lost to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

In Amethi also he allegedly misbehaved with her.

In March, she met Vishwas at Leela Palace Hotel in Chanakyapuri. She claimed that Vishwas used offensive language to suggest that she would have been an integral part of the party if she did favours for him.

“Thereafter, I was very much terrified and afraid of raising my voice against the advances of Vishwas. Because of the behaviour, I stopped working for the Aam Aadmi Party and visiting their office,” the woman added.

The woman sent her complaint to Chanakyapuri police station. Police sources said Leela Palace Hotel falls under Sarojini Nagar police station due to which the complaint was forwarded to the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Prem Nath.

In July, an FIR was filed after the woman complained that she was being threatened and defamed by AAP workers. Vishwas was not named in that earlier FIR filed with Seemapuri police station in northeast Delhi.

On Friday, former DCW chairperson Barkha Singh’s counsel told Delhi High Court that the DCW had closed proceedings over the woman’s complaint against Vishwas after he failed to appear before it.

The court was told that the matter was handed over to Delhi Police. The woman’s counsel informed the court about the latest complaint saying it is a separate complaint in which serious allegations have been made against Vishwas.

Mangaluru police have arrested a 27-year-old NRI on his return from Saudi Arabia in connection with an Instagram post allegedly containing derogatory and provocative remarks about the Hindu religion, officials said on Monday.

The accused, Abdul Khader Nehad, a resident of Ulaibettu in Mangaluru, was working in Saudi Arabia when the post was uploaded, police said.

A suo motu case was registered at the Bajpe police station on October 11 after an allegedly offensive post circulated from the Instagram account ‘team_sdpi_2025’. Police said the content was flagged for being provocative and derogatory in nature.

During the investigation, technical analysis traced the Instagram post to Nehad, who was residing abroad at the time, a senior police officer said. Based on these findings, a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him.

On December 14, Nehad arrived from Saudi Arabia at Calicut International Airport in Kerala, where he was taken into custody on arrival. Police said further investigation is underway.

Mangaluru, Dec 15: Air India Express has announced that it will resume direct flight services between Mangaluru and Muscat from March 2026, restoring an important international air link for passengers from the coastal region.

Airport authorities said the service will operate twice a week—on Sundays and Tuesdays—from March 1. The initial flights are scheduled on March 3, 8 and 10, followed by March 15 and 17, with the same operating pattern to continue thereafter. The flight duration is approximately three hours and 25 minutes.

The Mangaluru–Muscat route was earlier operated under the 2025 summer schedule, with services beginning on July 14. At that time, Air India Express had operated four flights a week before suspending the service.

Officials said the summer schedule will come into effect from March 29, after which changes in flight timings and departure schedules from Mangaluru are expected. Passengers have been advised to check the latest schedules while planning their travel.

The resumption of direct flights to Muscat is expected to significantly benefit expatriates, business travellers and others, further strengthening Mangaluru’s air connectivity with the Gulf region.
