Mangaluru, Apr 15: Slamming opposition parties for their attempt to demonise Karnataka chief minister, a senior Congress leader on Friday said that the company jointly owned by former's younger son was awarded the tender to set up a private laboratory in a government hospital at the end of a “transparent” process.

Matrix Imaging Solutions India, a company jointly owned by the CM's son, has bagged the tender to set up a super specialty lab at government-run PMSSY Hospital.
Earlier, another senior Congress leader and former union minister Janardhan Poojary had urged Siddaramaiah to cancel the contract awarded to the company.
Mr Poojary said that the chief minister should not neglect party ideology for the sake of his son. He should set an example by cancelling the contract. The mistake should not be repeated, Poojary said.
“Those in power should not get involved in controversies of this kind. Yeddyurappa had committed a similar mistake. One must remember that people observe all the developments carefully,” Mr Poojary warned.
