Mangaluru, Nov 1: A native of Kasaragod, who was residing in Goa, has been arrested by the sleuths of the Mangaluru City Crime Branch in connection with a cocaine seizure case registered recently.
The arrested person has been identified as Ajmal Pullikal Ahmed, a resident of Candolim in Goa, who originally hails from Kasaragod.
Police said five people who were selling cocaine in the city were arrested in September, who were in possession of drugs valued at Rs 70,000. Apart from it, police also recovered three cars, cash and cell phones from them.
However, main accused Ajmal was absconding, and the police who started investigations into the drug racket, arrested him in Goa on Wednesday.
The police alleged that Ajmal was supplying drugs to Mangaluru from Goa. In 2008, he was booked for possessing a duplicate passport at Ullal.
