Bengaluru, Nov 9: A 60-year-old passenger was held by security personnel at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru recently while boarding a Pune-bound flight with four unlicensed bullets of .22 rifle and two empty cartridges.

Bade Babana Rao (60), a residentof Pune, had arrived in Bengaluru by train to visit his daughter in Indiranagar and was going back by a Spicejet flight. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel spotted the ammunition while scanning his hand baggage.
They detained him and started questioning him while members of his family were still at the airport to see him off. Preliminary enquiry revealed that Rao had obtained the ammunition from a friend named, Shankar Singh, who is an ex-serviceman.
